Sound system of churches, sacral buildings, cemeteries

Special features: specific equipment intended for sacral objects

An example of implementation of sound system in a larger church: Župnijska cerkev Sv. Terezije deteta Jezusa na Kodeljevem, Ljubljana

The church is the work of the Slovenian architect Jože Plečnik. The problem of installing the sound system in this church was its big width. Consequently, the UNI2202 sound pillars were used at the projection stage. These are speakers with a length of 150 cm. At 100 V, they have a power of 60 W and one is sufficient for sound coverage of 12 m. Of course, we also had to pay attention to the correct height of the speakers layout.

We used microphones at customer’s request. On both ambon we used CMX230 condenser microphones, and CMX215 / 45 and an appropriate base were used on the altar.

The central system of every speaker is a preamplifier and amplifier, which captures the signal from the amplified microphone and sent it to the speakers. Because the church was quite demanding in terms of space, we used PV-DSP 1AD 7.4 digital amplifier. The device contains nois gate, equalizer, suppressor, limiter. The device is programmed with the help of software.

In our work, we often experience the need for a sound system in the exterior. A very special one is for example a sound system at cemeteries.

Funeral ceremonies vary from place to place according to the localities and habits of those who hold the ceremony and participants of the funeral. As burials regularly gather large numbers of people who weakens the range of wireless microphones, and represent an obstacle to sound, plus often noise caused by nearby traffic roads, it is necessary to have high-quality, powerful sound systems. Since s funeral is a very sensitive moment that do not allow place for mistakes, the entire system must be very reliable and person who manages it, should have a proper training.

Usually, the speakers are sorted according to the surface of the cemetery and, if necessary, we also supply the appropriate load-bearing poles. The central unit is most often an amplifier with microphone input and a built-in player. Depending on local needs, we can perform the sectoral switching on / off of the speakers. The speakers used, must provide adequate protection against weather and provide appropriate quality for speeches, music playing and performances of the singers. We use a wireless microphone that needs to ensure sound quality and a very good wireless range. Wireless microphones are often chosen from a set of wireless microphones manufactured by AKG or LD System. Among other things, we use sound pillars (AXIR O/W), sound quality horns HS121 or WX502OB sound cabinets and COM24MK2 or MA-125GU amplifiers.
